Central Vacuums - FAQ'S

Q. What is included in a complete central vacuum system package ?

A. Besides the main unit and attachment kit you have chosen, we include a large assortment of 90 and 45 degree elbows, pipe couplings, pipe hangers with built-in wire holders, 90 degree TY elbows, 1 1/4 pint can of glue per 3 valves, 80 feet of low voltage wire per 3 inlet valves, 80 feet of pipe per 3 inlet valves, deluxe metal/plastic inlet valve rough-in plates, and more fittings to install the entire system. Each system is different and requires different amounts of fittings, in most cases you will have left over pipe and fittings. All of our pipe is shipped in 8 foot lengths, this saves you time on the installation of your new central vacuum system.

All complete systems also include printed and DVD video installation instructions.

All of our central vacuum complete packages and DIY packages include standard inlet 1500-1 valves 3x5 inch. You may upgrade to designer standard inlet valves 3x5 inch, or to designer full door electric direct connect inlet valves 3x5 inch. Please call us if you have any questions about colors or valve styles we offer.

Q. I need a custom made system with VacPans and other items. What's the best way to order ?

A. Call in your order. We can put a custom system together for you in minutes, anything you want.

Q. Who installs the system ?

A. We recommend that if your are not a Do-It-Yourself person and you don't have a local dealer to purchase from you should ask your plumber or electrician they also do these types of installations.

Q. What is the difference between a standard inlet valve and a direct connect electric inlet valve ?

A. Standard inlet vales use a pig tail cord to supply power to the power nozzle and direct connect are hard wired with 110 voltage during new construction. (See pictures below)

Q. What is the shipping time to get the system ?

A. West Coast about 4 to 5 days, East Coast about 2 to 3 days, Central US about 1 to 2 days, South 2 to 3 days By UPS Ground Service.

Q. I ordered over $75.00 in central vacuum pipe, and the shipping should be free. Why is your system charging me shipping ?

A. Central vacuum pipe is considered by UPS to be an oversized item. UPS charges us a surcharge and instead of hiding the charge in the price of the pipe, we opt to let you decide if you would like to purchase the pipe. We don't charge extra shipping for the pipe in our complete packages, only when pipe is ordered as a bulk item do we charge shipping.

Q. If I have a problem with the power unit or attachments who repairs it ?

A. We are a full service repair company and are here to meet all your needs. You should send the item back to us for repair. Other dealers are not obligated to do any repairs.

Call us, we will answer any other questions you may have or e-mail us.

Central Vacuum Tips:

1. When picking out a central vacuum unit, double the total square footage of your home and pick that unit. This assures maximum cleaning throughout your home.

2. Central vacuum hoses are 30 feet, to figure the right number of inlet valves measure your home based on a 25 foot hose length or about one valve per 675 square feet, this allows for furniture placement and mistakes. Better more valves than less.

3. Deluxe electric direct connect inlet valves are not recommended for existing homes, as they require additional 110 voltage to be installed.

4. Know your limits, if you understand basic plumbing and electrical Do-It-Yourself installation is easy. If not buy your system from a Authorized Dealer and have them install the system..... it is well worth the money spent !!
